Barter stores that specialize in specific items are rapidly increasing. Book and magazine exchanges are particularly common. Following the experiences In London where a small paperback book exchange operated from the living room of the owner’s home. Popular titles line the walls and specialist books are stored in a huge converted cellar. Clients can also swap their own books, value for value, for a standard fee on each transaction. For higher value swaps, the difference is paid in cash.
